Effective University Intervention

The Academic Honesty Office reports that they receive only about 30-40 reports of plagiarism each year from the entire university. Any professor checking his or her memory should be able to recognize just how unlikely it is that this figure represents anything resembling the actual number of plagiarism cases. The university cannot effectively address the problem of academic dishonesty with such a limited understanding of its scope.
