Multiple Claims Of Unintentional Plagiarism

The university is creating a new procedure for handling cases of unintentional plagiarism. If you conclude that the student made an honest mistake, you and the student may agree to file an informal charge. Informal charges will not appear on the student's record but will remain on file at the Academic Honesty Office. The third time a student receives an informal charge, the three charges will translate into a formal charge resulting in university sanctions. By filing an informal charge, you will ensure that the student does not repeatedly slip through the cracks.
